Retraction Policy

Athens Institute's Retraction Policy

Reasons for Retraction:

An article may be retracted for the following reasons:

  • Scientific Misconduct: Plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification.
  • Major Errors: Errors in data or methodology that significantly impact the study’s conclusions.
  • Duplicate Publication: Articles published elsewhere without proper citation.
  • Ethical Violations: Issues regarding human or animal ethics, or conflicts of interest.

Retraction Process:

  1. Investigation: Once an issue is identified, the editor-in-chief will initiate an investigation, consulting with the authors and relevant experts.
  2. Decision: Following the investigation, a decision will be made on whether retraction is necessary.
  3. Retraction Notice: If retraction is confirmed, a formal notice will be published, explaining the reason for the retraction. This notice will be linked to the original article and indexed in relevant databases.
  4. Public Record: The retracted article will remain accessible with a visible retraction notice.

Authors’ Responsibilities:
Authors must cooperate with the investigation and disclose any conflicts of interest. In cases of misconduct, appropriate action will be taken to uphold the integrity of the scientific record.
